Careless Whisper, plus where I'll be this fall!!

For some reason this 1984 hit reminds me of the Fury series. It's slightly spooky and it references a betrayal ("guilty feet have got no rhythm..."). Sure, the fashion (do you SEE that bathing suit at the 2-minute mark???) and setting are decidedly un-New England, but I couldn't see those when I heard this song on the radio the other day and immediately thought, Em. This is Em's song.

Anyway, back to 2012.

I am thrilled to announce that I'll be visiting several far-flung US cities later this month, touring with a superstar list of authors that includes Becca Fitzpatrick, Tonya Hurley, Kresley Cole, and more.

Here's what I know so far. Check my Twitter and Facebook for updates.

-- Tuesday, October 23, 7 pm @ the Provo Library in Provo, UT: FINALE book launch party!!! This is where Becca, Tonya, Kresley, and I will be wearing our fanciest duds (Becca's already told me she'll be sporting sequins!). Apparently this library has a ballroom, which will fulfill my fantasies of going to a ball. Oh, and NBD, Patch will be there too. You know, just one of the hottest guys ever.

-- Wednesday, October 24, 7 pm @ Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix, AZ: Heather Brewer will be joining me, Becca, Tonya, and Kresley (*jaw drops to floor* - what a line-up) to sign books and talk teen lit.

-- Thursday, October 25th, 6:30 pm @ Barnes & Noble at the Clackamas Town Center Mall in Portland, OR: Me + BF + TH = YES. This will be my first trip to the "other Portland" and I'm excited to see what I can see of the city -- even if it's just from the backseat of a car.

-- Friday, October 26th, 7 pm @ Blue Willow Bookshop in Houston, TX: A few choice members of my family will be able to come to this one, which is a special treat. Becca and I will be rocking this old-school style, just the two of us, and I'm psyched to wrap up a week of events in this semi-familiar city (by semi-familiar I mean that I've been there twice).

Becca and I kicking it "backstage" at Chapters Brampton last year.
-- Tuesday, October 30th, 11 am @ Maine Coast Book Shop event in Damariscotta, ME: More info to come.

-- Saturday, November 3rd, 1 pm @ Watermark Irish Pub in Toronto, CA: I'll be at the Second Annual Ontario Blog Squad blogger meet-up. I had such a wonderful time in Toronto last year and can only assume that this time around will be just as memorable. Can't wait to drink a Guinness and talk books!

Hope to see you out there.

  1. I think my favorite line in this entire post is, "I'm excited to see what I can see of the city--even if it's just from the backseat of a car." Ha! There's some truth!

  2. I wish you guys were coming to Toronto area again! I think your so funny and AWSOME ! And I've grown to loovveeee your novels so much more on just one year :)

  3. I feel compelled to make sure you realize the epic South African rock band SEETHER redid that fluffy 80s tune and gave it some bite. I think the remake is more fitting for your cool, edgy series, but that's just me :)
