Tumblr time?

Hey guys,

I've been fooling around on Tumblr for a few days. Nothing special going on yet, but I'm looking for input -- what are the advantages to blogging there as opposed to here? Or should I maintain separate sites? Is Tumblr better for people like me, who aren't the best at long-form blogging regularly? Would love to hear all/any thoughts.

  1. I don't understand the purpose of Tumblr, so I'm sorry I can't help =/

  2. I guess If you don't like long-form blogging then Tumblr is the right choice. I have one but I haven't gotten a hang of it and really don't know how to follow on their but its worth a shot. =)

  3. I've had blgospot, wordpress, and tumblr blogs and tumblr is by far my fave. It's really easy to use (and contrary to popular belief it's fine for long form blogging even though it wasn't originally set up with that in mind), there are tons of interesting ppl to follow (and be followed by) as well as a ton of news organizations (The Atlantic, The New Yorker, and more!), and the re-blogging function is awesome. It's easy to share things you like with your followers. I highly recommend it and although it sounds like I am tumblr employee based on this glowing review, I swear I'm not. :-) --Jess (jessicaschein.tumblr.com)

  4. whatever is best for you. I personally love Tumblr. It is by far my favorite blog. It is super easy, But it's mainly for pictures, not blogging. If I were you, I'd choose Tumblr. (Don't worry, Blogger, we still love you!)
